If you’re like most Americans, you subscribe to at least a couple of streaming services, most likely Netflix, Hulu, or Prime Video. Just a year ago, that might have been enough, but today there are a lot more services to choose from, and $6.99 a month here and $12.99 a month there can add up before you even know what hit you.
Luckily, certain credit card companies have figured out that they might have a role to play in this situation. These companies offer streaming services discounts, and while none of them provide as good a deal as Verizon’s free year of Disney+, they should still help cut costs for consumers who are trying out these services and seeing which ones they want to keep.
Read ahead to see which three credit cards StreamEasy recommends for discounts on streaming services.
The US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature Card offers 5% cashback on just five streaming services – Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV, FandangoNOW, and Vudu. However, it also provides 5% cashback on fast food, so you can cram Big Macs into your face while watching a Walking Dead marathon, free from worry about your bank balance.
The product page of the Wells Fargo Propel American Express Card promises to “make it rain rewards,” and this card offers triple rewards on streaming services. The available services include Apple Music, Hulu, Netflix, and more. It has no annual fee and offers a 0% APR on balance transfers and purchases for the first 12 months.
The Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express offers the best deal on streaming services, with 6% off of a selection of services that frankly leaves the competition in the dust. In addition to providing this deal on Netflix and Hulu, it also applies to Apple TV+, HBO Now, ESPN+, and quite a few more. Just be sure you watch out for the $95 annual fee.
