Once Glazer is firmly on solo comedian footing, you start to forget “Broad City,” which behooves her greatly since, frankly, that show was simply much funnier than this special, possibly just because the chemistry between her and costar Abbi Jacobson was so strong.

Still, Glazer has a great deal of goodwill from the audience on her side, as well as the fact that she’s genuinely, naturally funny. Once she’s ready to stand entirely on her own and not call back to Ilana Wexler, a great comedian will likely emerge. Until then, look at “The Planet Is Burning” as a transitional vehicle.
